South Elmham Hall, with its ancient ruined minster and farm cafe, is reached by footpath. A short drive away is the historic town of Bungay, gateway to the Broads National Park and notable for its wide range of antique shops, restaurants, pubs and other specialist shops; bicycle and canoe hire is also popular. Nearby is St Peter's Hall with its award-winning independent brewery and restaurant. A little further along the Waveney is the attractive market town and boating centre of Beccles where day boats can be hired to explore the Broads.
